COSMIC MESSAGE
N81 is a very young star cluster in the Small Magellanic Cloud, a dwarf galaxy near our own. The massive, hot stars in N81 emit powerful winds, sculpting the surrounding gas and dust. This representative-color image shows two of the brightest stars, with a dark knot of gas above them, likely their birthplace.
