Particle Sizes in Saturn's Rings
The Cassini spacecraft broadcast radio waves through Saturn's rings to Earth. This experiment helps determine the size of the ring particles. Particles much larger than a radio wavelength reflect those waves away. Three different wavelengths, about 1 centimeter, 3.5 centimeters, and 13 centimeters, were used to gather data on the ring composition.
