A Scorpius Sky Spectacular
Scorpius is a well-known zodiacal constellation, but it usually appears as only a few bright stars to the unaided eye. This image was taken with a camera, color filters, and a digital image processor. Long duration exposures in several colors were used to bring out detail. One exposure was taken in a very specific red color emitted by hydrogen, which highlights star-forming regions.
