Technicians from Ball Aerospace and NASA are preparing segments of the James Webb Space Telescope's primary mirror for testing. These masked men work at the Marshall Space Flight Center's X-ray and Cryogenic Facility. The JWST's primary mirror will be 21.3 feet across, made of 18 hexagonal segments. It is optimized for infrared observations, exploring the early Universe.
