COSMIC MESSAGE
The Iris Nebula, NGC 7023, is a region of interstellar dust and gas in Cepheus, 1,300 light-years away. Within the Iris, dusty nebular material surrounds a hot, young star. Obscuring clouds of dust and cold molecular gas are also present. These clouds can suggest various convoluted and fantastic shapes.
