A Minotaur V rocket launched from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility on September 6, 2013, streaking across a starry night sky. The launch was visible across a large part of the eastern United States, even from light-polluted urban areas. This 35-second exposure captures the rocket's initial launch streak and the flare of its second-stage ignition, with a fiery reflection in the calm waters below. The view looks south and west from a vantage point in Virginia.
