COSMIC MESSAGE
This long, dark filament of magnetized plasma is stretching across the Sun, as captured in a telescopic image from April 27. The photo shows it in the light of ionized hydrogen atoms. This filament is about the distance from the Earth to the Moon, and it even reaches beyond the Sun's edge.
