The Sombrero Galaxy from Hubble
The Sombrero Galaxy, also known as M104, appears like a hat due to its large central bulge and prominent dust lanes. We see its disk nearly edge-on, enhancing the hat-like appearance. Billions of old stars create the diffuse glow of the central bulge. This Hubble Space Telescope image reveals many globular clusters within the bulge and younger stars in the dust rings.
