A Colorful Solar Corona over the Himalayas
These colorful rings around the Sun are a solar corona, visible when the Sun is seen through thin clouds. The effect is created by light diffracting around individual water droplets. Since different colors of light have different wavelengths, each color diffracts uniquely. This phenomenon makes the corona appear in distinct, rings.
