Seven Dusty Sisters
This is the famous Pleiades star cluster, also known as M45 or the Seven Sisters, shown in infrared light. In this view, the surrounding dust outshines the iconic blue stars. The images were taken by NASA's Wide Field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) spacecraft. The Pleiades star cluster is by chance situated in a passing dust cloud, which glows brightly in infrared.
