The East 96th Street Moon
A very full Moon, known to some as the Strawberry Moon, rose over Manhattan's Upper Eastside on June 28. Near the horizon, the warm yellow lunar disk appeared slightly ruffled and dimmed by the long sight-line through hazy atmosphere. This telephoto shot was taken from elevated ground in Central Park, looking east-southeast, capturing the Moon with city lights along East 96th Street.
