Messier 2
Messier 2 is a giant globular star cluster, the second entry in Charles Messier's catalog of non-cometary objects. It is one of the largest globular clusters in the halo of our Milky Way galaxy. Though Messier initially described it as a nebula, this Hubble image resolves individual stars across its central 40 light-years. M2 contains nearly 150,000 stars.
