The Perseverance rover took its first selfie on Mars on April 6, 2021, its 46th Martian day. The WATSON camera, designed for close-ups of rocks, was used to capture this image. It took weeks of planning and a complex series of exposures to create this detailed selfie, which includes the rover and its surroundings, along with the Ingenuity helicopter.
