HH 211: Jets from a Forming Star
Herbig-Haro 211 is a young star system recently imaged by the Webb Space Telescope. It shows powerful jets of gas streaming from a forming star. Theorists suggest that these jets help young stars shed angular momentum, allowing them to continue contracting. Observing these Herbig-Haro objects helps astronomers understand the complex processes of star formation.
