Perseverance Selfie with Ingenuity
On its 46th Martian day, or April 6, 2021, the Perseverance rover took its first selfie on Mars. The WATSON camera, designed for close-ups of rocks, needed weeks of planning for this complex shot. It involved programming a series of exposures and camera movements. The final image is a mosaic of 62 frames, showing Perseverance and the Ingenuity helicopter.
