A Bulls-Eye Einstein Ring

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

An Einstein ring, B1938+666, created by a foreground galaxy acting as a gravitational lens. The gravity of the nearer galaxy bends light from a more distant galaxy behind it, distorting it into a nearly perfect ring. This cosmic mirage was first detected using the MERLIN radio telescope array.
