A Sonic Boom
When an airplane breaks the sound barrier, it creates a sonic boom. This happens because sound waves emitted by the plane pile up in a cone behind it. As the plane accelerates to supersonic speeds, an unusual cloud can sometimes form around it. While the exact cause of this cloud is still debated, it's thought to be related to changes in air pressure and temperature.
