Star Trails at Dawn
If you fix your camera to a tripod, you can make an image of graceful trails traced by the stars as Earth rotates. This wide-angle view, made from Montlaux, France, shows stars near the celestial equator tracing nearly straight lines. Stars north and south of the equator appear to circle the north and south celestial poles. The stars of Orion are visible to the right of center, with brilliant Venus rising on the left.
