COSMIC MESSAGE
During a total solar eclipse, the Sun's outer atmosphere, the corona, becomes visible. Normally hidden by the bright solar disk, its subtle details and wide range of brightness are difficult to capture. This image, taken during the 2008 eclipse, combines multiple exposures and digital processing to reveal the intricate structure of the corona.
