Saturn's Moon Dione in Slight Color
Dione, one of Saturn's moons, shows a curious asymmetry in its crater distribution. Like Earth's Moon, Dione is tidally locked, meaning one side always leads its orbit around Saturn, and the other trails. Despite this, Dione's leading hemisphere is less cratered than expected. This suggests a geological process has resurfaced the leading side, erasing older impact scars.
