Conjunction by the Sea

NASA APOD · Mike Black
COSMIC MESSAGE

Early morning risers on June 24th saw a beautiful conjunction of Venus and a waning crescent Moon over the Atlantic Ocean. This photo, taken near Belmar, New Jersey, captures the celestial pairing as dawn brightens the eastern sky. The exposure also reveals the night side of the lunar orb, softly illuminated by earthshine.
