COSMIC MESSAGE
The Spaghetti Nebula, Simeis 147, is a supernova remnant whose intricate strands cover nearly three degrees of the sky. This is about 150 light-years across at its estimated distance of 3,000 light-years. This composite image uses a narrow-band filter to highlight emission from hydrogen atoms, which trace the shocked, glowing gas.
