The James Webb Space Telescope's primary mirror, made of 18 gold-plated beryllium segments, was unveiled in 2016. This time-lapse shows the 6.5-meter mirror being raised to a vertical position. Engineers monitored the test as lights reflected off its surface. JWST is designed to be the most powerful space telescope yet.
