Trapezium: At the Heart of Orion
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
At the heart of the Orion Nebula lies the Trapezium, a cluster of four hot, massive stars. These stars, particularly Theta-1 Orionis C, emit powerful ultraviolet radiation. This radiation ionizes the surrounding gas, causing the entire star-forming region to glow visibly. The Trapezium stars are about three million years old.
