Trapezium: At the Heart of Orion
At the heart of the Orion Nebula are four hot, massive stars known as the Trapezium. They are gathered within a region about 1.5 light-years in radius. Ultraviolet radiation from these stars, especially Theta-1 Orionis C, powers the entire visible glow of this star-forming region. The Orion Nebula Cluster is about three million years old.
